Coleman Family - Bendigo Family Photographer

I first photographed Dan and Pippa during a extended family session with his family in 2019, and was excited to be welcomed into their family home after the recent arrival of new baby girl Elsie.

When I arrived it was just after school time, Pip was running around in a singlet and her undies and mum + dad looked a little flustered! This is where I want to reiterate to my clients that I’m first and foremost a mum.
I know that before a session, along with organising the rest of the family you’ve somehow got to make yourself look ( & feel) camera ready! Pip was completely obliging for me and dressed quickly, which allowed the other guys to just focus on themselves and Elsie.

An at home session really allows time and space for baby to feed, and we can shoot around those moments, not to mention if this is your first baby sometimes even just the idea of popping baby into a carseat has you sweating bullets! Something else to consider is that if you have older siblings around, this can mean that they can stay comfortable in their own environment which means they are happier having their photo taken.

You know your kids better than anyone, so you need to think about their personalities; many of my clients have children between 18 months and 3 years old and we all know kids this age have strong-willed minds of their own.
There’s no guarantee they will cooperate for photos so we just need to go in with a great attitude and hope for the best (and maybe have a few bribes up our sleeves! ( this is when I step in with a delish cookie from My Cookie Delights! )

Their whole session was full of life, joy, and love.
I laughed + said ‘ god she is CUTE!’ so many times throughout the hour.
And even now, looking back through the photos, you can still feel that!

Thank you for trusting me to capture what your new family of 4 looks like.

XO Pete
